Two Quick Links for Saturday Morning

06:54

The wind chill on Mount Washington in NH dropped to -108°F last night, setting a record for the lowest wind chill ever recorded in the US. (The "feels like" temp at my place in VT last night was about -50°F.) [usatoday.com]

It's so cold in New England right now that "the troposphere could dip below the summit of Mount Washington", which would then be briefly located *in the stratosphere*. WHAT?! This is literally a plot point in The Day After Tomorrow. [wmur.com]
