Bill Maher has said liberals are wasting their breath by trying to win over President Donald Trump’s supporters with facts.
On Friday’s broadcast of “Real Time,” Maher said facts simply didn’t matter to Trump’s core voters who “aren’t changing their minds because the problem isn’t in the mind, it’s lower, it’s emotional.”
Maher joked how Trump “looks and acts like a man who’s been painting his face with orange lead for forty years.” But he then added how his supporters “know” that and “don’t care.”
“He could have Anne Frank’s skeleton in his closet. They’d all vote for him again,” he quipped.
Maher put it down to Trump’s supporters having a “gut feeling that the world has changed and they don’t like it,” noting how they believe he’s going to “change it back to the way it was.”
