Nancy Pelosi Admits She Still Has A Hard Time Saying ‘President Trump’

01:25

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said on Tuesday that she still has a hard time saying the words “President Donald Trump.”

Speaking at the Commonwealth Club of California in San Francisco, Pelosi stumbled over the president’s name and then simply referred to him as “President What’s-His-Name” and “the president of the United States.”

“I notice you don’t say ‘President Trump,’” interviewer KQED’s Scott Shafer said.

It’s hard,” Pelosi replied to laughs and cheers.

Pelosi said she had been looking forward to seeing Hillary Clinton win the election last year and become “the highest-ranking woman practically in the world as president of the United States.” She called Clinton’s surprise loss a “blow for the country.”

Shafer asked Pelosi if she would prefer Trump or Mike Pence as president.

I’d rather have President Bush,” she said with a laugh.

Pelosi also called the vice president a “sincere, authentic arch-conservative,” but said Trump was much harder to define.

I don’t know what President Trump believes, do you?” she said, and then pointed out differences between his campaign promises and what was actually in his budget.
