Bishop International Airport in Flint, Michigan, has been evacuated after a police officer was stabbed Wednesday morning.

Michigan State Police Lt. Jeff Neville is in stable condition after undergoing surgery, an MSP spokeswoman told HuffPost. He was rushed to a local hospital after being stabbed in the back.

A suspect is in custody and undergoing questioning, the spokeswoman confirmed.

The FBI is taking the lead on the investigation, according to Tim Wiley, a spokesman for the bureau’s Detroit office.

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder (R) requested community members keep the attacked officer in their thoughts and prayers.
